The One That Got Away

These are the ideas from pitches and presentations that never made it into the light. The ideas that were so great, it was almost a crime they didn't get to live past a deck. May they rest in peace.

Interactive Battleship

When pitching Turner, one of the asks was to create content to promote some of their most successful shows, one of them being The Last Ship. It’s an apocalyptic show centering around this navy war ship, the Nathan James. When a disease wipes out almost all of humanity, they have to help their onboard scientist find the cure and vaccine. During the show, Russia causes issues (duh!) and are trying to hunt down the ship (I was really into the show, don’t judge me). The challenge was to share insider content and drive engagement. Well we took that challenge seriously and dared our fans to a game of  good, old fashioned battleship. Only it isn't old-fashioned because it's on Instagram! Our takeover would create the playing board and each small square would be tagged with a code. If you follow the tag you would find out if you "hit" or "missed" the ship. Once you think you know the position of the ship, you have to search the 4 coordinates to find the secret account and access exclusive content.
